ETFE resin is a semi-transparent, lightweight, and durable fluoropolymer material that has excellent chemical resistance and can operate at 300 °F (149 °C) continuously. Because of this, ETFE is often used as a replacement for glass or traditional plastic. ETFE is also used in the aviation and aerospace industries for wire coatings because it has better mechanical toughness than PTFE.
