    DESCRIPTION



    Hypalon® Rubber, a brand name developed by DuPont subsidiary DuPont Performance Elastomers, refers to the material Chlorosulfonated Polyethylene (CSM). This synthetic rubber exhibits resistance to chemicals, weathering, and water. It can also withstand extreme temperatures and exposure to UV light. Commonly known as Hypalon®, this material can be regarded as an enhanced version of its original, displaying superior characteristics. Its typical working temperature range lies between -35ºC and 125ºC. The ability to withstand aging effects caused by heat and chemicals constitutes its essential properties.

    APPLICATION



    CSM, as a special rubber, has been widely used in fields such as special pipes, transportation belts, seals, wires and cables, waterproof rolls, automotive industry, etc. It is also widely used as a basic material for preparing anti-corrosion coatings. Laminated pipes made with CSM as the inner layer have low permeability to fluorohydrocarbon refrigerants and are suitable for refrigerant delivery pipes. Blending SM with fluororubber can improve the processing performance of the blended rubber material; Blending with ethylene propylene rubber can improve the physical and mechanical properties and thermophysical characteristics of vulcanized rubber. Adding CSM and isoprene rubber to EVA polymer can produce composite materials with slip resistance, wear resistance, and oil resistance. CSM is mixed with PVC and PU in an extruder and vulcanized to produce high oil and ozone resistant vulcanizates.
